Each day this week I will be posting info on all of the events/shows I will be taking part in this summer. The first event that I am excited to announce is Electric Windows (HERE) presented by Open Space Gallery (HERE) which takes place Saturday July 31st in Beacon, New York. The event will feature some insane talent as urban artists including Avic Tchernichovski, Big Foot, Buxtonia, Cern, Chris Stain, Chris Yormick, Depoe, Elbow Toe, Elia Gurna, Ellis G, Erik Otto, Eugene Good, Faust, Gaia, Joe Iurato, Mr Kiji, Logan Hicks, Michael De Feo, PaperMonster, Peat Wollaeger, Rick Price, Riiisa Boogie, Ron English, Ryan Bubnis, Ryan Williams, Skewville, and TC. This is an event you do not want to miss!! You will be able to meet some of your favorite artists painting massive canvases. It is a great event not just to meet the artists but to take in the beautiful city of Beacon, visit Open Space Gallery, and have a great time. Check out more info below and the show flyer:

Info via the Electric Windows Site:
"24 street artists will converge in Beacon, NY on Saturday July 31st to create live artwork and have their work installed on the exterior of a 19th century factory building. Electric Windows draws its name from the former electric blanket factory at the foot of Mount Beacon that will act as the backdrop for the event. E.W. turns the idea of a gallery inside out using the large industrial windows as frames for each artists work. Usually street art is not so easily contained in a rectangle but this installation ingeniously bridges the gap between indoor and outdoor art both inverting and subverting the concept of the art gallery. Each of the 24 pieces will be approximately 8 ft x 12 ft."

Koleszar: A Friend With Knives

It is always important to surround yourself with people who are driven, motivated and push you to do bigger and better things. Koleszar (HERE) just sent over this photo of a recent stencil he completed. This is his process:

"What I am doing is breaking the image down into a color half tone, color separating out the cyan magenta yellow and black, and then cutting out all the dots. Time consuming to say the least. This one here was almost 2 months of cutting alone."-Koleszar

I am blown away by how much time this type of stencil takes and it is a great example of how stencils can be used to really push art in a powerful way. The things your can do with your hand using stencils and your imagination is unlimited. Hopefully Koleszar's work motivates you to try something new and creative today.

Inprogress Magazine- PaperMonster

May 21st is around the corner and "Something Worth Going To" will soon open in Orlando. Inprogress Magazine (HERE) will have full coverage of the entire event. You can view Pete Van Flores III's feature on PaperMonster and find more about "Something Worth Goin To" over at: http://inprogressmag.com/magz/?p=2804
Via Inprogress Magazine::
I don’t exactly know his secret but it’s like staring at a woman’s personality filled with comical stories and a sort of cartoony filled Karma which started it’s aura as early as the 70’s. That might not make much sense but once you look at his work you’ll more than likely get the same feeling. His work is definitely an inspiration to those attempting to Stencil or Collage and also shows you can get past the very common stencil style and add crazy personality to a piece. I personally love stencil work and though I love Banksy’s work I do get tired of the Banksy clones really quick, there’s always a stencil artist doing a little girl by a soldier, or even a bomb falling by an innocent woman, but when you can be original and still tell a story or just make the viewer smile using your own style I think you really solidify yourself as an artist and person who is capable of inspiring... Nike must read my mind or be a huge fan of my paintings because I have been in love with every blue/teal shoe they have released this year and I have purchased every single one. Above is the Nike RT1. I posted about the RT1s before and this has become one of my favorite shoe concepts almost at the level of my love for Nike Dunk Highs. Check out more of the Summer 2010 releases here:

Now you may not recognize these images above and below but that is Mario in some of his newest costumes for Super Mario Galaxy 2 releasing May 23!! I am really excited to see what other suprizes Nintendo in this game as more details continue to be released in the next coming weeks. Did you know you could use Yoshi in the game as well?!! YES! Mario Galaxy 2 is not the only amazing game being released this May. Red Dead Redemption (HERE) hits shelves this month and this game is one word: GIGANTIC! Rockstar Games, the makers of the Grand Theft Auto series have put together what could possibly be one of the best games this year. You have to check out the video below to see how beautiful and massive the game is. You will not want to miss out on this experience. Also the multiplayer is just mind blowing. Check out the video below:

Lastly, IRON MAN 2 is an awesome movie. It released this weekend and most likely broke some sort of box office record. There is something about this movie that just makes we want to create some new gadjet or try something new. Hopefully you will have the opportunity to check it out in a theater near you. Check out the clip below of the amazing briefcase power suit.
